um, Glen is watching "Ugly Americans" and I've got youtube videos playing in the background.
Ya know, on Thanksgiving I wore the cutest outfit. And I thought my hair was really good (I'd just colored it and it was super curly). My outfit was a short strappy black dress, charcoal leggings, black quilted flats and a silk purple "jacket" with this pretty black lace trim. ( I didn't wear heels 'cause my back was twingey.) Anyway, not one compliment other than from my husband. Am I really *that* ugly? Or are my inlaws just that petty? Not one of them was well dressed. My Mom would say they don't know any better. Maybe they just don't notice.
Stayed in on Black Friday. Soon after Midnight Thursday night I started shopping online. I got gifts for 6 people checked off my list! And I got one more today. Woot! Looking forward to the packages arriving cause I want to wrap them up in the cute Rankin-Bass (Rudolph, Santa Claus is Coming to Town) paper I picked up today :)

Gobblepalooza
Casual evening at home. Glen and I went out earlier and picked up some movies, books plus Christmas wrapping stuffs & a couple gifts. Was planning on having an artsy-type night with a friend but my knee started to act up as soon as we went out. I didn't know how bad it would get so I called her and postponed 'til tomorrow.
Called Mom while we were out and she immediately said, "I'm sorry". I also apologized. So, that was nice of her because the way things went on Thanksgiving day made me super upset. What Glen and I did do on Thanksgiving day was go over his sister's house and ate dinner with the inlaws. It was nice and she even sent us home with leftovers which were greatly appreciated last night when we ate them for dinner.
I've had this big bag of apples here TAUNTING me ('cause I keep forgetting to eat them), so I finally busted out that apple coring/slicing gadget and made a big pan of baked apples. MAN, the house smelled AMAZING and they tasted pretty good too! Even Glen liked them and he *hates* fruits & vegetables. We have leftovers for tomorrow too.
Part of the shopping included party supplies: Santa plates, Santa napkins and those big red party cups. Of course, when we got home and put them away it turned out I had extras from last year. No big whoop. When Glen starts his next job he'll get Santa napkins in his lunch. LOL! Now, the reason we got party supplies is because we're considering having both families at the house. That would be Mom, Dad, step mother, step sister, brother in law, niece, nephew, mother in law, father in law, sis in law, aunt, uncle, best friend and her parents. That is ALOT of people for me to deal with. Last year we paid for catering, but i know we can't afford that this year :( I'll probably make lasagna for Christmas Eve or maybe I can go to church Christmas Eve and have everyone on Christmas Day. I wonder if it's "ok" to make lasagna for Christmas? Is it festive?? Is it "fancy" enough? Hmmm...

sunday sunday
kinda sleepy, watching Weeds and filling out paperwork. there's loads that needs to be done and I really should make some phone calls. for now I'll organize some art supplies and try to get the rest of the clothes put away. I still am considering cooking Thanksgiving dinner. If anything, having people here will make me get the rest of the organizing/cleaning done. Everytime we have people over the added benefit is the clean house we have after. Well, after I clean up after the guests. LOL..
the S on my keyboard is getting wonky. this laptop isn't even a year old. I really don't want to send it in to be fixed cause then we'd be sharing a computer. for a few weeks. grr... we're both addicted enough to need our own.

early list for Santa
Santa, I've been such a good girl this year. I hope you will consider some of these items I am dreaming of...
clearly, my fave movie of the year
since I refuse to go to any stadium shows anymore, I find this U2 DVD necessary
I also require this little projector. Glen will NOT be allowed to use it
Of course, I need a yoga mat or I'll NEVER practice yoga regularly.
PIANO MUSIC! 'Cause I finally have my piano and can preactice :)

oh, Biscuits!
Luv luv luv Craig Ferguson! Too bad it keeps me up every night. Makes me wonder if we need a DVR? Eh, I'd probably be up whether or not Craig was on. Tonight I'm up 'cause my right forearm/wrist REALLY hurts. Of course, that means I really shouldn't be here. I'm a dumbass.

ouchy day with G and the kitties
Knee and back are hurting today so I'm nesting on the couch with Willow. We went out early this morning and didn't get back until 2pm. I did pick up some new books from the library: Unbearable Lightness by Portia deRossi and Amy Sedaris' new book Simple Times.
Came in the house, put some more clothes away while changing into jammies and settling down. My knee is hurting in a sort of new way so I'm going to wear my brace and hope for the best. At least I'm sleepy and will probably feel better when I wake up. Sure, I'm trying to skip naps but today is an "ouchy I feel bad for myself" type day.

all the houses made out of ticky tacky and they all look just the same
Kinda crappy day. All I have to do entails multiple phone calls and copying records and looking up dates and figures. Kinda like tax season, but in a dozen different ways. I need to keep up with my prescriptions and doctors appointments and MAYBE get my knee fixed before our insurance changes. Which involves ANOTHER physical and appointment with a cardiologist. Copies of checks I need to print won't. I think they need to be saved in a different format. This is dull I know, but all I've done lately seems tedious. Had an art date today but really couldn't deal. Hopefully my friend is ok with that.
Watched The September Issue last night and really liked it. More than Devil Wears Prada i think. Reminded me that I need to get in touch and stay in touch with my designer friends in NYC. Oh, and made me feel frumpy as hell.
Rewatching the first season of Weeds. I really do like this show, need to get the last few seasons on dvd from the library. Made a big salad for dinner tonight and it just didn't come out that good. I actually felt bad for waking G when I realized the salad sucked. LOL! Salad shouldn't be hard. The tomatoes weren't very good, I used chow mein noodles and they sucked. I know I used to use the ones the restaurant gave you with your takeout. They must be different somehow?
Just because I missed my art date tonight doesn't mean I'm not going to do the paintings. I already had idea for small square cat canvases so that's where I'll start. Maybe draw the outlines tonight and work on them tomorrow? I think I still have square canvases?

pain is bad, I've slept all day and all I can think of are the
Wet N' Wild holiday palettes. LOL! Last week I hit every drugstore from here to my dad's house. Now I hear they're showing up in more places so it's time to do it again. Ya know, when I'm not ouchy and stuff. Maybe by the time G gets home tomorrow I'll feel up to the hunt. So funny, I never would've given a d@mn about WNW stuff, but in the last year or so their quality has gone through the roof. "Club" was on my list to buy next time I was at MAC. Well, WnW had knocked it off! Woot! One WnW palette (of 6 colors) $4.99 or 1 MAC pan $11.00. Clear winner, me thinks ;)
